Today, I went for a Chinese Orchestra performance at Mandarin Garden, which is just beside Victoria School. I expected it to be an indoor performance, but it turned out to be an outdoor performance.
The residents in Mandarin Garden were having some sort of party. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong was the Guest-of-Honor, but I did not see him. Maybe he went there later. By the way, I played the cello. I know it is a Western instrument, but I wonder why it is in the Chinese Orchestra. Most of the songs we played were Chinese New Year songs, but we played one English song, which is the “Rhythm of the Rain”. It is quite a nice song. The performance went on very smoothly; I think the residents there enjoyed it. The problem while performing was, the winds kept blowing our scores off the score-stands.
After a tiring day of practices and performance, we were rewarded with some pizza to eat because we did not have our dinner. When I reach home, I took a bath and went to sleep. It was such a tiring day.
